Elbow pain is really nagging and bothering kind of pain. Whatever work we perform, somewhere or the other elbow is involved which causes pain. Sometimes even a little movement is painful. There are a lot of reasons for elbow pain. It can be different diagnosis and each of them must be treated accordingly because it might present with different symptoms or sometimes the same symptoms. Usually the elbow pain in adults is caused by the following reasons: trauma, arthritis, bursitis, golfer’s elbow, or tennis elbow.
Trauma is usually any kind of fall or fractures. Arthritis can be either rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis. Bursitis is a painful inflammation of your joint caused by repetitive stress or overuse of the joint. Golfer’s elbow is pain in the inner side of the elbow. Tennis elbow is pain on the outer side of the elbow. Golfer’s elbow and tennis elbow is usually noticed in sports person. The usual symptoms of elbow diagnosis are pain, stiffness, swelling, pain on touch.
Reboot Physical therapy is important in relieving elbow pain. Physical therapist will teach you strengthening exercises and mild stretching exercises which should be performed every day. During the initial stage of the injury, it is better to use ice pack to reduce the swelling and pain and in the later stages, it is better to use hot pack to reduce pain and stiffness. Modifying the daily activities will also help in reducing the pain.
